Food Security

Bellarine Living and Learning Centre’s food security programs offer a vibrant place to learn more about accessing nutritious food, healthy food preparation and understanding more about our community food systems.

We are passionate about making healthy food the easiest option for individuals and families. We are utilising a community development approach where we are committed to empowering the Whittington community to share their food knowledge, skills and passion for cooking whilst building community connections over a meal.

Food Bank

Our Food Bank program runs every Wednesday from 9:30am-11.30am during school terms. Information on food relief in holiday periods can be found at Geelong Food Relief Centre- https://geelongfoodrelief.org/need-help

We have a variety of fresh produce available and pantry items.

Our wonderful volunteer team are the heart of the program and make sure every person is valued.

For those needing urgent food aid, we can assist in food vouchers from our partners, Geelong Food Relief Centre.

Minimal Waste Workshops

Our free Minimal Waste workshops are held each term. Participants use fresh and locally sourced produce to prepare three separate meals. Participants also take home a food kit to make the recipes at home. Stay tuned for upcoming workshops.

Victory Garden Workshops

Our Victory Garden workshops teach participants how to start their own home vegetable garden on a budget. Stay tuned for upcoming workshops.
